A short inspirational message from us to our athlethes:

My beloved friends,

So much is at stake here, the trainings, exhaustion, energy, sacrifices, money, time..will it pay off and achieve its goal? Now it’s the time to answer to those who’ve been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day. It’s been a long time coming, but now, this is the defining moment for you! Fight long and hard. Fight for the academy and all the people that you loves.There will be setbacks and false starts. There maybe disagreements and problem. Put that behind us and always find that common ground. The aim for GOLD!

Hope! That’s what kept us going when times were tough. It may look dark at the moment, but if you hold on to hope, it will be brighter. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.

Believe! In your ability to bring out the best in yourself. And on the days where you feel so tired, think of everyone that you care and love. When those who oppose you have you down, reach deep and fight back harder. That’s what hope is – that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better is waiting around the bend; that insists there are better days ahead. If we’re willing to work for it. If we’re willing to shed the fears and  doubts. If we’re willing to reach deep down inside ourselves when we’re tired and come back fighting harder.

We rise or fall as one academy, as one people. Let’s resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned us for so long. This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. If you are victorious, never forget who this victory truly belongs to. It belongs to the whole contingent and academy. It belongs to all you. This is your victory. It can’t happen without you, without the supports and sacrifices. Above all, remember, this is our time, to promote the cause of unity and peace; to reclaim the dream and glory, and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope.

Lastly, remember the true meaning of this event, unite and embrace the true spirit of sport itself!
