now visa prolongation price is doubled….1200R…gosh!
1 Q, once i prolonged my Visa, do i still have to pay 250R again for redoing the registration?
Registration need to be done EACH time you go out of russia. If you didn’t go out from russia, but just want to prolongthe visa you ONLY have to pay the 1200 rubles. If you went out from russia and you want to prolong ur visa, you will have to pay both fees, total 1450rubles.
but the problem is the registration date is only until the visa deadline….since im going to prolong my visa, means the date change…..
But, the date in registration still the old date….
If you mean that you want to prolong your visa after finishing doing your registration, there should be no problem, you may proceed with doing visa only.
when I went to inquire the other day about prolonging my visa, the lady said that I had to re-register again. and she said that I have to pay the registration based on the number of days, the later it is the more expensive it’ll be. But I registered when I got back during winter break already. Please advise.
my passport going to expire in DEC 2010..i am going to renew it when i back to mal in summer.what should i do after the renew? should i do anything in mal?
You should go to the Russian Embassy and get your passport number changed on your visa.
when is the visa office and dean’s office opening for registration this year? or we can go on any date?
one more q, in february this year, i already prolonged my visa.. but it’s only till november. so when i go back to moscow, should i just register or should prolong my visa as well?
suggestion pls…
thank u~
Actually, visa office is opened all summer long. Dean’s office is already opened.
Regarding your visa, I’m not sure whether applying for new visa at a later date will have any effect on your visa due date since they usually follow your arrival date. With that being said, you should also consider the trouble of going through all those process again later on to apply for new visa. Frankly, it’s up to you.
Maybe you can tell us did it effect on visa due date if you do decide on applying it later.
Thanks for the info. Good job =)
my visa ends in february 2011.. so, my question is, should i prolong my visa or register first and then prolong it later?
Please see the previous reply. Basically, it’s up to you.
hello…
im comin back on the 27th, and that is a friday,
since the visa department only opens on tuesday n thursday, what do i do?
As stated, the three-day restriction to renew visa is counted excluding Saturday and Sunday. And, the counters at ground floor of our dean’s office are opened everyday at least until the end of August. Therefore, you should renew your visa as soon as possible and make it your priority due to the time constraint!
thanks ever so much!
what is a migration card?
Migration card or Миграционная карта is the paper (with a lot of boxes) that you are required to fill in upon entrance to Russia.

TQ very much for the prikaz & the form..
Good job!
i have a q.. should i renew my visa if i plan to go outside russia again after winter trip?
If your visa will not expire until you come back to Russia from your planned trip, you don’t have to renew your visa. Please note that you still have to register everytime you plan to stay in Russia for more than three days.
Im aware of the 3 days restriction to renew visa- excluding saturdays and sundays
So what if i dont prolong my visa that is due on the 1st of September, and my flight back to Moscow is on the 27th of August (which is on a Friday)
is it possible to renew it on the 31st of August which is just one days b4 my visa is expired?
If the rules have not change from last year, the answer is yes. Since you will be crossing the border into Russia more than 3 days before your visa expires, you should not be facing any problems with the immigration since that is our biggest concern. Regarding the visa renewal, if you do it before your visa expires, that should not be a problem either. BTW, the current rules to renew your visa is to do it within 7 days of your arrival date, but better do it as soon as possible, in your case before it expires.
Hi I have a question regarding my passport. Does the 6-month rule apply for when we are entering Malaysia from Russia too? Mine expires in October next yr. I was thinking to get it renewed next summer? Is that ok?
Yes, it does apply. I think it’s better for you to renew it now (Passport renewal in Malaysia takes max 1 week and visa renewal for those with green visa paper, only a few days) or do it in our Embassy in Moscow after you reach there (usually takes around one month). It’s risky to wait until next summer to renew it because you only get less than 6 months of validity if let say you are coming back in July 2012.
