Payments update!

Hey guys,

Ever wonder why your napravlenie is still withheld by Mos Lanka? This is what we know from them.

This might be due to these reasons: tuition fees or insurance fees.

According to Mos Lanka, there are several students that still have unsettled balance with Mos-Lanka while transferring their tuition fees to them. Currently, only those who pay through Russian Resource have no debt with Mos-Lanka. For more info or if you want to know how much you still owe them, contact Miss Sveta directly via email or just give her a call. Her contact no. are available here.

You must also pay your insurance fees first to get the napravlenie. Therefore, please make the payment as soon as possible to avoid any further complications. Please note that napravlenie is a proof that you have already made all necessary payments to Mos-Lanka and it must be given to our dean’s office for verification.

Since the sponsors had already make their payments for tuition and insurance fees, all sponsored students’ napravlenie are with us. For those of you who still haven’t take your napravlenie, get it from your year reps for 5th and 6th year students and others from Suzuanhafizan Omar.

Academic Schedules 2010/2011

Hi,

Are you ready to see what’s new this year? Another extra subjects? Electives?

The semester will start as usual on 1st September 2010. However, it is advisable to return to Moscow earlier to settle down and prepare for the new semester. SMSA strongly recommend you to come back 3 days before your visa expired to avoid any complications. Please, do not miss your classes and finish your exam as soon as possible.

If you still haven’t know, MMA will be given the university status and the name of our academy will be changed to (I.M. Sechenov) First Moscow State Medical University or First MSMU. Sounds long, huh?

Guide for Registration and Visa Prolongation

Guide for registration and visa prolongation

Dean’s office registration and visa department opens on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2.30pm till 5.30pm. Make sure you bring your valid PASSPORT, original MIGARTION CARD and original VISA together with the following documents for prossesing. Please note that your passport MUST be at least 6 months valid to travel outside Malaysia. In this case, you must at least have 1 to 1 1/2 year of valid passport to register and to apply for visa.

Update! Just like last year, extra counters are opened everyday at the ground floor of our dean’s office starting on 23rd August 2010 from 9am to handle the crowd that will be registering and applying for visa. Please prepare all the documents beforehand to ease up the process.

Registration

Registration must be done within 3 working days (excluding Saturday and Sunday) after you have arrived in Moscow.

To make the process faster, prepare and arrange all the documents properly below beforehand :

1 photostat copy of passport
1 photostat copy of migration card (make sure date of the stamp can be seen on the photostated copy)
1 non-glossy/matt (матовое) passport-sized photo

Visa prolongation/application

1 photostat copy of passport
1 photostat copy of migration card (make sure date of the stamp can be seen on the photostated copy)
1 photostat copy of visa
5 non-glossy passport-sized photos (including those pasted on application form)
1 copy of prikaz (приказ) for your academic year with your name highlighted
1 visa application and/or appeal* (Визовая Анкета и/или Заявление) forms (fill in the forms beforehand).

*Make sure visa application form is printed double-sided on a paper, both front and back. Appeal form is needed only if you had stayed within Russia during the holidays.

Those who wish to get their photos taken, there is a photo shop located on the way to the dekanat, approximately 50m from McDonald’s. It costs about 220 rubles for 5 photos. There is also another photo booth in the ‘Frunzenskaya’ metro station. They may sometimes accept photos printed on white paper.

Both prikaz and visa application form also can be obtained from the dekanat for photocopy.

Insurance

Hey,

You can now pay your insurance fees. The price is USD 175. You can pay by banking in to Mos-Lanka account or directly at the bank in dean’s office building on the 3rd floor. However there will be a USD20 charges for every payment through the bank in dean’s office.

If you wish to pay through the bank in dean’s office building, Mos Lanka advices students to pay together with other students as the charges will only be paid once. The receipt will be under only one name but you will pay for several students and the charges can be divided between all of you. Students should collectively pay the insurance fees together, then give Mos-Lanka the receipt with a list of students that pay together with you.

All payments via both ways must be made to Mos-Lanka account, the same account as for tuition fees:

After that, remember to give these receipts (with tuition fees, if not submitted yet) to Mos Lanka (with the list of names, if applicable).

Those who has renewed their passport should also photocopy your passport and give it to Mos Lanka to apply for your insurance card.

Hi, everyone,

School is starting soon. Are you ready?

SMSA has again make an initiative to ease up the early semester hassle.

During recent discussions with Mos-Lanka, they have agreed to pass all napravlenie (направление) to SMSA to avoid the long queue and crowd at their office.Remember, you must then pass the napravlenie to our dean’s office.

From now to 6th September 2010, you can take your napravlenie from Suzuanhafizan Omar at Spartiv Hostel, Room 212/1. After that, all remaining napravlenie will be passed on to your year reps.

Currently, only sponsored students’ naparavlenie are available with him, other students’ napravlenie will be done by the next two weeks.

Hello, everyone!

How is everyone doing? How is the summer holiday?

SMSA has been working very hard and closely with our dean’s office and our embassy to solve several problems on hand. Now, we would like to know when are you arriving to estimate the amount of students that will be registering. We wold like to decrease the hassle by suggesting several solutions to our dean’s office.

Hostel Fees

Hi everyone,

In case you didn’t know or just want to recheck, we have here your hostel fees for the year of 2010/2011.

Please refer to the following notice for those living in Azovskaya str., Malaya Pirogovskaya str. and Parkovaya str.

For now, fees for hostels at Metro ‘Yugo-Zapadnaya’ and Pushkin Institute remain the same, 2950 USD. We will update you as soon as possible if there are any changes regarding the structure of hostel fees. Do check our website from time to time for the latest news and info.

As for name lists for hostel, our dean’s office has promised us to let us know by the end of August. Hopefully, they keep their promises.

Orphanage Visit

Everyone,

SMSA in cooperation with our dean’s office would like to invite all students to participate in a visit to an orphanage in Tverskaya region, gorod Kaliyazin, Detskiy Dom “Podnicok”. This visit is open to all MMA students from all countries, not only Malaysians, and it’s free of charge.

This orphanage is populated by children, age between 6 to 18 years old. This is our first visit to get a look into their life and the environment. Follow-up visits will be planned in the future.

Details of the journey:

Date: 8th August 2010 (Sunday)

Time: Before 7.30am

Gather at: Hostel Spartivaya, ulitsa Malaya Piragovskaya

The bus to the orphanage will leave at 7.30am. The journey will take approximately 2 to 3 hours . Those interested can bring their own things to be donated to the orphans. All kinds of donation are appreciated.
